No waiting period on any service - including major work like crowns and root canals.

Most dental plans make you wait six to twelve months before major services are covered. Lettuce Dental, underwritten by Principal, doesn’t. Preventive care is covered in full from day one, and orthodontia is included for dependents up to age 19.

Out-of-network care is still covered - you’re reimbursed at the 90th percentile of billed charges rather than a fixed fee schedule, so you’re not penalized for seeing a dentist outside the network.
