Frequently asked questions.

Enrollment, coverage dates, provider networks, and what happens to your current plan.

Getting started

How am I able to access this type of coverage?

Lettuce built the first Professional Employer Organization (PEO) made for self-employed solos. PEO services - including group benefits - are included for Lettuce Pro members operating as an S Corp.

How do I enroll?

All benefits enrollment happens directly in the Benefits section of the Lettuce platform. Sign in at app.lettuce.co, click “Benefits,” and follow the instructions.

When would I actually get covered?

First, you need to be a Lettuce Pro member. From there, coverage starts on the next plan effective date after your enrollment is finalized - Lettuce will email you to confirm once it’s locked in.

Don’t cancel any existing coverage until you get that confirmation email. Enrolling in Lettuce Group Benefits does not automatically cancel a marketplace or other existing plan - canceling your old coverage is a separate step you need to take yourself, once your Lettuce coverage is confirmed.

Healthcare specifics

What is the Baseline Visit I keep hearing about?

It’s what keeps your Curative healthcare plan at $0 out-of-pocket. You and any dependents age 18 or older complete an online Baseline Visit within the first 120 days of your plan starting. It’s confidential and doesn’t affect your premium. Learn more at curative.com/baseline.

What network of providers can I use?

Curative’s PPO network varies by state. Use the provider search to confirm your doctors are in-network before you enroll: curative.com/providers. You can check prescription coverage the same way at curative.com/drugs.

Can I add my spouse or kids?

Yes. Because of the co-employment relationship, you’re the covered “employee” - just like at a W-2 job, you can add Employee + Spouse, Employee + Child(ren), or Employee + Family. Each tier has its own premium, shown in your personalized Benefits Guide.

Managing your plan

If I switch to Lettuce, what happens to my existing ACA plan?

Nothing happens automatically - that’s on you. Enrolling in Lettuce Group Benefits does not cancel your marketplace plan. Once your Lettuce coverage is confirmed, you’ll need to cancel your old plan yourself to avoid paying for both.

If I cancel Lettuce, can I go back to the ACA marketplace?

Yes. Because a PEO relationship is technically a form of employment, ending your Lettuce Pro membership counts as a “qualifying event” - it makes you eligible to enroll in an ACA plan again outside of the normal open enrollment window.

Where do I see my actual rate?

Right on each benefit’s page - click into Healthcare, Dental, Vision, or Accident and scroll to the Monthly Rates table. Every plan tier (Employee Only, +Spouse, +Child(ren), and Family) is listed there, no download required.
